During the last two-three weeks, we have had some attendance issues.  We are mainly attributing this to the end of the raid tier as we have had many people not here who are normally here all the time.  This has definitely affected our ability to progress in heroic modes as well as just full-clear normal modes (Lei Shen is hard bro).  The officer crew have implemented a couple of changes to help prevent this in the future while at the same time rewarding our long-time active players while preparing for the next raid tier:

1.)  Changing of member ranks:

There are now two ranks of raiders, core raiders and just plain "Raider".

All regular raiders are individuals who cannot currently maintain 90% attendance in raid but we know that they are able to raid at times and do a good job when they do raid.

Core raiders are individuals who continue to maintain 90%+ attendance.  These are the people that we can rely to be on consistently every week and form the core of our raid group, hence core raider.  Core raiders have increased repair amounts and higher priority for raid spots.  We will basically never sit a core raider over a raider if possible.  For example, say we have two mages, one of which is raider rank and the other is core raider rank.  They both want in on a fight and neither of them will volunteer to sit.  We need to decide which of these two individuals will be our 25th. raider.  The Core Raider will always get the spot in this situation over a regular raider.

2.)  The ATRemains Attendance Tracker Spreadsheet makes a return!:

Some of you may remember from DS and Firelands days, I maintained a spreadsheet listing individual attendance.  I also had all kinds of math involved where the spreadsheet would tell us how many raiders we needed to recruit to maintain an average of 27 raiders online for every raid night.  Thanks to Heldarram volunteering to manually input the attendance numbers, the spreadsheet is making a return.  This spreadsheet will determine who maintains a core raider rank and who doesn't.  We were a bit more lenient in DS/Firelands days since we raided 3 days a week but since we now only raid 2 days a week, the expectation is that every raider maintain 90%+ attendance if possible.

3.)  DKP Decay instead of DKP wipe:

We will be implementing a DKP % decay for the new raid tier.  We want to reward our existing core raiders for being there for us last tier (And as a result, collecting a ton of DKP) while giving our new players a chance to actually still gear up.  The exact % amount that DKP will be decayed by is still TBD, but it's looking like we'll be doing 50%.  Example: if old player A has 500DKP and new player B has 50 DKP, Old Player A will end up with 250DKP and New Player B will end up with 25 DKP.  The older player will lose a higher static amount of DKP to narrow the gap between new and older players (a gap of 225DKP is present now, compared to 450 DKP gap before).  The older player will still have much more bidding power and still have priority on the most-wanted gear, but the newer player will actually get SOME gear since the DKP gap has been reduced.

4.)  No mandatory raid on 8/20 and 8/21:

We will not be running a 25-man raid on 8/20 and 8/21.  We WILL be running a 10man if possible, so please show up if you want to raid but don't feel obligated to.  We will not be earning/spending DKP on the 10-man run and we will be counting attendance either.  Please take the day off and relax if you want to!  If you don't want to, show up and do some 10-man raiding.
