Go to Documents\Battlefield 4\settings and find the file name "PROFSAVE_profile"
Edit that file in notepad or whatever text editor you prefer.
Find the lines:
GstRender.FullscreenEnabled X
GstRender.FullscreenMode X
GstRender.FullscreenScreen XWhere X is your current setting at either 1 or 0.
Change them to the following:
GstRender.FullscreenEnabled 1
GstRender.FullscreenMode 0
GstRender.FullscreenScreen 0Then save the file and boot up the game again.

It's an issue with the new Anniversary Update. BF4 is run as a background process if you have windowed borderless mode on. Change to fullscreen to fix the problem.

BORDERLESS is what is specifically causing the problem. The solution I posted will put you into fullscreen. But FULLSCREEN or WINDOWED will work perfectly fine.
