Claiming a badge we have no record of
Your badge is real but never made it into our records. Send a photo and staff will add it to your profile.
Your badge is real, our record of it isn't
Some badges were made by systems whose records were lost, and now and then a badge is written but its record fails to save. Either way, the number on your badge is genuine; we just have nothing attached to it. This page is how you put that right.
Send a photo, staff do the rest
Sign in, take a photo of the front of the badge, and send it. Staff check the photo and add the badge to your profile, and you are told by notification either way. If you are asked for a better photo, come back to the same badge and send another; it replaces the first rather than starting again.
Where the suggested event comes from
Badge numbers start with the moment the badge was made, so we can usually tell which event it belongs to from nearby badges or the event dates. That guess is only a starting point, and staff confirm it against your photo.
When something is wrong
- The page says the badge was retired. It was removed from our records on purpose. Contact staff if it is yours.
- Your claim was turned down because someone else's was approved. Two people claimed the same badge. Contact staff with anything that shows it is yours.
Field by field
- Badge photo
-
Staff approve your claim from this photo alone, so show the whole front of the badge with the artwork readable. A blurry or cropped photo is the usual reason a claim is sent back.
