Joining a tabletop match

Signing up for a game at the tabletop area, picking a seat, and what happens when a session has an entry fee.

Signing up

You need a badge for the event. Open the match and register — for a free match that is all there is to it, and you can drop out at any point before it starts.

Only approved matches appear here. If an organiser has submitted a game that has not been reviewed yet, you will not see it.

You cannot be in two places at once

If a match overlaps something you are already booked into, the signup is refused and you are told what it clashes with. That covers everything at the event, not just tabletop: a tournament, a team you are on, and a match you are hosting and playing in all count.

Back-to-back is fine. A game ending at 3:00 and another starting at 3:00 do not clash.

If you would rather play the new one, drop the old one first and then sign up.

Picking a table

When a match runs across several tables — four Commander pods under one listing — you choose which one you want, and can see how full each is. A table that is already full cannot be picked.

Choosing is optional. Register without one and you will be placed at whichever table has room on the day.

Paid sessions

A few sessions cost money to enter, because they cost the organiser money to run — paint and minis for a painting session, boosters for a draft. These show a price on the match.

Registering for one adds it to your cart instead of signing you up straight away, and holds your seat while you check out. You are on the roster once the payment clears. You can pay with a card or with your account credit.

If you leave it in your cart the hold expires after about twenty minutes and the seat goes back to whoever wants it.

When something is wrong

The register button is gone and there is a clash warning. You are already booked into something at that time — the warning names it.

The seat you wanted went grey while you were looking. Someone took it, or is in the middle of paying for it. Pick another.

You paid but you are not on the roster. Talk to a staffer at the desk. The payment is recorded, so this is fixable.

Field by field

Pick your seat

Greyed-out chairs are taken, including ones someone is part-way through paying for. Choosing is optional — register without one and you will be seated on the day.
