Getting told when badges go on sale
Before badges for an event go on sale you can ask for one email the moment they do — a switch if you are signed in, or just your email address, which sets you up with a free account.
The alert only appears before sales open
An event page shows the Badges aren't on sale yet card while the event is coming up and badge sales are still switched off. Once sales open the card is replaced by the normal Purchase tickets button, and after the event it disappears for good.
Signed in, it is one switch
If you have an account with a verified email address, flip the switch and you are on the list. The email goes to the address on your account, read at the moment sales open, so changing your email in the meantime is fine as long as you verify the new one. Flip it back off and you will not be emailed.
You also get a bell notification on the site when sales open.
Without an account, your email is enough
Type your address and press Notify me. We create a free Capital LAN account with just that address — no password — and email you a Verify & sign in button. Pressing it verifies your email, which is what switches the alert on, and signs you in.
That button works once and lasts 24 hours. After that, sign in any time with a one-time email link from the sign-in page, or use Forgot password if you would like a password.
Until you verify, the alert stays off, so nobody can sign a stranger up for anything beyond that one email.
If the address already belongs to an account, we don't make a second one. An unverified account gets the same verify button again. A verified one gets a confirmation link instead; open it and press Yes, email me. That email also carries a link to cancel the alert any time before sales open.
You get exactly one email
When staff open badge sales, everyone on the list gets one email with a link to the ticket page. That is all a sign-up ever sends. If sales are paused and reopened later, nobody is emailed twice, and an address that signed up both ways still gets one copy.
Seats are still first come, first served — the alert gets you there early, it does not hold a badge for you.
When something is wrong
No email? Check your spam folder, then wait ten minutes before signing up again — we will not resend sooner than that, and an inbox gets at most three of these emails a day. If the verify button has expired, request a sign-in link from the sign-in page; using it verifies your email too. If you already confirmed, signing up again does nothing, because you are already on the list.
Signed in but there is no switch, only a link to verify your email? Verify it first — we only send alerts to addresses we know are yours.
Signed in but the switch was already on? You probably signed up with the same email address before you logged in. Turning the switch off removes that sign-up too.

We send one email when badges for this event go on sale, then nothing more. Without an account, your email sets one up and the alert starts once you verify it; signed-in members with a verified address are on the list as soon as the switch is on.
