Volunteer Time Off and employer matching
What to give your HR department if your employer offers paid time off for volunteering, or matches the hours you give.
What these programmes usually want
Employers that offer Volunteer Time Off, paid time off for community service, or a charitable match generally ask for the organisation's name, its EIN, and something in writing confirming you are volunteering. All of that is on this page.
The letter is made out to you
The letter is generated from your account, so sign in first and it comes out in your name. It confirms that you have signed up to volunteer with us — it is a commitment letter, not a record of hours already worked, because we do not currently track hours.
If your employer needs hours confirmed after the event, or has their own form to fill in, email us and we will do it properly. That is a normal request and we would much rather handle it than have you lose the benefit.
When something is wrong
- The letter has the wrong name. It uses your account name — change it in your account settings and open the letter again.
- Your employer needs something this does not cover. Email [email protected] and tell us what they are asking for.
