  1. We'd like to make you aware of the new Real ID-related privacy options we've introduced to Battle.net. These options provide Real ID users with additional tools for customizing the service based on their preferences, enabling the ability to opt in or out of the Real ID "Friends of Friends" and "Add Facebook Friends" features or to turn off Real ID altogether.

  2. We can only communicate our plans in so many ways. We are careful and cautious though it's true about giving out too many details when they aren't solidified. We do this for a variety of reasons including understanding that if we give a date, people can and will make plans around that date. When they do and say (heaven forbid) we miss that date, that person is upset that we were unable to give them a reliable date. Sure, you can say it's the fault of that person, but we work very hard to make sure that our information is as accurate as possible and if we have concerns or ideas of how something might change further, we try to leave ourselves that option and let it be known as often as we can.

We've already posted the potential date of the end of the Arena season. That should help some people with some of their plans. If you're looking for a more concrete date for the release of Cataclysm itself, we're not at the point yet where we feel we want to release that. Anything else that's floating out there is speculation until we do so.

*Edit- Also, it's easy to say, "why won't they answer my important question" but you must keep in mind, some things we can't answer, we can't be in every thread at ever moment though we try to read as much as we can, without more information about what it is you need an answer to --we can't answer anything. There are also a lot of answers out there already. There are more answers that we need to do more work to provide because we try to take into account its effect and how much information should go with it to make it as complete as possible. And sometimes, the answer we give just isn't always the one someone wants to hear, but we do what we can.

These options provide Real ID users with additional tools for customizing the service based on their preferences, enabling the ability to opt in or out of the Real ID "Friends of Friends" and "Add Facebook Friends" features or to turn off Real ID altogether.

Real ID offers an optional, convenient way for keeping in touch with real-world friends you know and trust, whether they're playing World of Warcraft, StarCraft II, or one of our future games. The "Friends of Friends" and "Add Facebook Friends" features provide you with even more options to stay connected while you play by making it easier for real-life friends to locate each other on Battle.net. You can easily enable or disable these features through your Battle.net privacy settings by logging in to your Battle.net account at http://www.battle.net/.

  4. That's great that you have a solid group to go into Icecrown Citadel with. It's also great that you're getting to see the content. If it's not challenging enough with the buff, definitely try it without it and see how it goes. Hopefully, it continues to go well for you all and you can move on to trying the Heroic modes.

We of course want to continue to add extra challenge into the encounters and I've heard many people remark that they've had a lot of fun with Icecrown Citadel. We're also pretty pleased that so many people have gotten to experience the Raid Dungeon as well. We don't want to have a repeat of the Sunwell Plateau in which so few people really got to get in and get a good go of it in.

We're working to make sure that the encounters in Cataclysm are fun, accessible for those who want to experience it, and still offer that challenge that people say they want to get out of it. It's not an easy order to fill, but the development team is trying to fill it and as always, will continue to work toward that goal all through development of World of Warcraft.
