Since the death strike buff I can manage the birds a lot better but still Dk's are the worst scaling dps on this fight. If I use Dancing Rune Wep on cd with other cds its doable and sometimes I can even beat prydain but if rng is off i have often had to take the bird through the "volcano" phase as bash calls it. I am awesome on phase 4 though because i don't really have to use many cds on the birds so i pretty much have all my cds to blow when we have to tank alysrazor. Also snugg/moot myself and prydain use worms reactively and just call for big heals when we expect a tantrum. Now that I have the rep vendor dps trink the birds should be a breeze now tho even if prydain and bash bitch about me using it.

Yeah pretty much if I stepped in the 25 to tank I couldn't dare get away with the current mastery setup. I would have to stack a ridiculous amount of stam to avoid getting dropped. Dks are probably the worst tanks atm because if i take a spike of 200k dmg like often happens in a 25 man fights I have no way to stop it unlike block tanks. Afterwards sure I'll be able to do like a 70-80k death strike but it doesnt matter if i get gibbed in a global. In a 10 man the dmg isn't as scary so I can get away with less stam and more mastery as to be less of a mana sponge although I do feel that the stam breathing room is better on some fights like Alys and Beth where I will take either 1) a spike before a healer can get topside with me or 2) a huge spike when that stupid baby bird gets pissed at me. We really haven't had problems with me and Prydain getting gibbed until we started working on phase 2 Rag. When healers have to move to avoid seeds we can very easily get dropped. I have a feeling when you all in the 25 get to Rag you will HAVE to have dpriest and hpally shields stacked up uber high for the movement in phase 2 because i'm sure the dmg will scale to be that much worse.

I have personally tried stam stacking while capping exp, pure mastery, and a balanced approach to gearing/gemming/reforging and I personally feel that when I hold 180k unbuffed health and then going mastery while strategically taking socket bonuses and reforging for the exp cap or close to it is the best way to go. For normal modes and last tiers heroics I feel that the balanced setup is best. Not reforging away all of my avoidance has really shined on Baleroc when I can take the entire devastation phase pretty close to solo. But I don't have a healers perspective because ruff and bash dont pay attention. They just think prydain is squishy is hell and I'm fine to heal on whatever we're doing. That prolly has something to do with the amount of cooldowns I have though. We'll see what happens when we get into heroic modes.

One thing that I think worked very very well in the 25 man was setting up like class roles into groups. On chim we had to do it for everyone to receive a heal, but it gave me and my fellow melee bros the chance to talk amongst ourselves in /p and position ourselves correctly before Willi had to move the guys on the other side into position. I like the squad feel it gave to raiding and i think it really helped with cohesion and helping each other out without spamming vent/raidchat with me, Havlat and Nem's so called "DK TALK". On that note......... hero class. But really guys great job we flew through BWD. Just gotta realize that communication and coordination is much more important in a 25 man setting. If it wasn't patch night I honestly think we coulda rolled into Nef's pit of lava and gave him an asswhooping.
