  1. vplc sucks - get rune of zeth.
  2. Here is a good "what to do if i'm a warlock" intro guide for 4.3. tl;dr version is destro is not as far behind, demo is probably best spec overall for a variety of reasons, and some tips on boss strats that are lock specific. Link: http://www.paragon.fi/guides/warlock-guide-43-normal-modes
  3. It's worthwhile to mention to people that they can bring their mains to this, as it is separate from the normal/heroic ID. In fact there really is no ID, other than tied to the fact that you've already downed a boss and can't get loot again! With mains, honestly I would think that pretty quickly once people learn the tamed down fights it will be blown through pretty damn fast. Highly highly recommend people take their mains especially early on - it will be a super fast way to get the new trinkets...and TIER. Yep - stats will be lower, but tier bonuses are there. Everything you need to know is here: http://www.mmomeltin...d-more/#ilevels And here is compiled loot list: (most is 384, final bosses is 390) http://www.freefrag.com/world-warcraft/20550-patch-4-3-dragon-soul-raid-loot-compilation.html
  4. i'm now 50% fyi - might have to take customers out for beer after work
  5. I'd go on any of these toons: Best geared (mage) - best if heroics are happening: http://us.battle.net/wow/en/character/skullcrusher/coachtaylor/advanced Other toons (which I could get more gear for in advance of friday via AH or w/e (gold = no problem): Shadowpriest: http://us.battle.net/wow/en/character/skullcrusher/shadoworb/advanced Ele Shaman: http://us.battle.net/wow/en/character/skullcrusher/chainn/advanced Tank: (worst gear, but can be improved fairly easily) http://us.battle.net/wow/en/character/skullcrusher/arj/advanced
  6. FYI as well I'm out tonight/tomorrow
  7. I'm 50% for tonight - rather than starting a new thread I'll just post here. I have conference calls with Asia tonight.
  8. forgot it on 1 fight - was on CD from previous attempt, came up when fight had about a min left. forgot to drop it..
  9. who am I going to /w with to tell them that I forgot doomguard completely?
  10. yeah was a great night! Damn about the parse..;( unholy i used to use some addon that did it automatically
  11. Lol ruff - well tonight is definitely a no, but good chance I'll be available tomorrow. Which probably works anyways - everyone shows for the tuesday, but less for wed/mon.
  12. Hi all, Though I'm family & friends, I thought I'd post that it's unlikely that I can raid this week. Taking the girlfriend in for a biopsy late tomorrow, and have to be a good bf and take care of her for the week. If she sleeps, I'm a'raidin'..
  13. i think sometimes sims suggest that mastery at certain levels can equal haste....but who knows really and it might be too close to care. Haste seems better for the "realistic world" ie in high movement fights. One question is this - with BL up, it seems to me that it is possible to hit LavaB under 1s with enough haste? But I guess most dps comes from Lightning Bolt so that means effectively there is no haste "cap" in that case. So who cares if LvB is < 1 sec? One other issue is...man is ele AoE annoying. FS-tab-FS-tab etc etc. Is earthquake even worth it any more? Or just FS+FN and CL? I can see it working when targets are up for long enough, but on short AoE trash what is really out there? (ie stuff dies before a CL even gets off). Just the totem I guess.
  14. my internet has tornado downs too. grats
  15. Ok sounds good I'll review all fights in advance. Again if you get someone with more experience/gear, no worries!
  16. Thanks guys. I do what i can with my shit gear lol. i feel better with the mage at the moment - but as demo in BH I did pretty much same dps. Still perfecting demo though...so aff if I raid.. Just don't give me flight on aly - though I probably wouldn't screw it up too badly. I'll watch/read up on all fights and be prepared. Won't be on til Tuesday, so don't think I disappeared! Hey snuggle were you in the BoT last night then? Which toon?
  17. I'd be a backup for that, but honestly my mage and/or lock are probably too undergeared this late in 4.2, and not familiar with your boss strats. But if you are desperate, I could go.. (coachtaylor, viledead). Think I ran with you in a ZA so you know I'm not retarded.. If there are others who are better geared, I'd definitely take them.

    Ragnaros Down!

Would have won if you only buffed Int
  19. Just saw this now - odd usually i get an email. This was back when the succ was the best aff pet. I had to use felhunter for cho-gall to help with interrupts. Thats what.
  20. What the - 4 aff locks now?? That's pretty wild. Thinking of changing to mage main - been thinking about it for awhile. Not that I'm raiding much atm anyways, but sounds like everything is going well!!
  21. I think it's a great idea - wish I was active to join in!! Couple quick tips - all generally based on what makes a 25m successful and fun for all: - schedule breaks - and keep it on schedule. Helps a lot of people who have kids, smoke, bio, etc etc. Without scheduled breaks, random AFK`s are constant. Chain AFK`s really hurt 25 mans. Recover fast - wiping shouldn`t result in AFK`s. - what was said earlier - sitting people for lag, making the raid wait, low performance, bad attitude (no matter what the performance is) is very important. - have clear raid leaders on vent. In 10 mans, often the raid is "led by committee"...can't happen in 25 man. Having 6-10 people all talk about revising boss strats constantly leads to 20 minutes between wipes - for the raiders - don't constantly /w the raid leaders. Save it for out-of-raid - but do help them if there is a tweak to strategy that will help or you notice someone else doing something wrong that they haven't realized. If you correct that person directly and are not a raid leader, you'll usually get an unfavorable response. - if you have a choice between two people - and you have to sit one, sit the person with lower attendance generally (except for massive skill differences). There are alts in the guild who can only make occasional raids - it's not good for the guild to prioritize them. Take them if you have a really poor performer - someone who is actively causing wipes repeatedly. Good luck and I really hope 25 mans work out!!
  22. Does that make paragon the stars of "So You Think You Can Dance"? in pixels!
  23. On request....only looking at raid bosses (not heroics or trash). Only doing affliction - destro is /rollface and demo dps was nerfed to the ground baby! Note: if anything has changed in the past few weeks, I'm out of date. 2nd Note - because this is for bash, I make jokes. Good jokes. 3rd Note - this is poorly written, scattered, and potentially incomplete. Here's the thing for Aff - the dps of this spec is balanced around using soulswap. Use it. Same for Destro with Bane of Havoc. Also, aff is a great spec to ease healer load in 10 mans - especially if you time a haunt refresh with lifetap. Destro is for wannabee mages or people who want the easy top dps spec.. Seriously though, bind that soul swap and that key should be getting rubbed out faster than bash watching anime. Affliction: pet: succ (glyphed) (note: last i read felhunter will be the pet in 4.1 after massive buff) if you're group totally sucks at interrupts or you need to help with it, get the felhunter out and glyph it. I'm looking at you, cho'gall. Single target: open with Bane of Doom, UA, Corr, Haunt, Sbolt spam. Drain life spam is an option too - but lag-dependent because it's channeled. Refresh dots BEFORE they fall off!! Cast haunt on CD more or less. Bane of agony if you are soul swapping constantly. The dps diff between doom and agony isn't that huge, but there is a small increase with doom single target (less gcds/min). Demon soul basically on cooldown, ideally with any trinkets. Drain soul at 25%, stopping after a tick to refresh haunt and bane. If you don't have a cast bar addon like quartz, well just accept you will do passable but never exceptional dps and stop reading. Dark intent - put it on a resto druid if you know he's going to be barely ahead of you on the healing meters. For dps, boomkins, shadowpriests, fire mages, survival hunters, feral druids and others are all great choices. AoE is Seed of Corruption. soulburn it if you can. Shadowflame is a dps increase: cast on CD if in range. Use on adds definitely if you can. Glyph it if your raid is having problems slowing stuff (what, another wipe because adds are out of control?!?!). Never move for shadowflame unless you have to for other reasons or can move closer (ie cho'gall) when recasting instant dots our soulswap. Aff tips: Aff isn't as mobile as people think - only 2 dots can be instant cast, rest need cast time. Possible to refresh UA/haunt on Atramedes in air phase though (though UA should be fine as you'll be throwing out fel flames as you run around). If you are moving and dots are up, fel flame!!! Bind it - it's also the difference in lock dps (ie when collapsing or spreading out). Never use fel flame to intentionally refresh UA) Al'akir is annoying for haunt, especially when your raid leader puts you in different positions. Sometimes haunt can take 10 seconds to land!! Basically, the cooldown is up BEFORE it even lands. fights like maloriak where there are adds, soulburn: seed of corruption. Save soulburn for it. Regen shards when needed off an add with drain soul. In that pug I was in a couple weeks ago, it's why I was 25k dps, and the other lock was 15k (well that and smart use of soul swap). Soul swap: use it, correctly. Valiona - soulswap your dots to the one in the air!! This is the trick why i do 20k on that fight and everyone else is 12-15. When soulswapping, use agony. Magmaw- soulswap right before the head comes down, that way your dots are all up right away, and are still ticking on the body. If you have nothing else to use soulburn for, might as well soulfire, drain life (ie chimaeron), or even healthstone when you have fail healers like phobia. hahaha Always put up some curse! Know your raid comp, put up the one that makes most sense. Don't forget about your portal. Use it when it makes sense - best example is right in front if al'akir, you can do some hilarious things with it to time wind burst against the tornadoes. You'll have fear glyph on because you had to cc some crap in heroics - get rid of it for raids you lazy cheap bastard! To summarize - honestly the differences between a 13-15k lock and 20k+ lock are: (actually this goes for most) - thinking about what to cast next - always be casting. Always. - letting dots drop off before refresh - not knowing how to maximize dps on trash - slow computer or server lag - not fully understanding a fight and how to maximize your classes abilities in each phase or situation
  24. FYI if rankings in 10m doesn't mean anything, explain why it means anything on 25? Don't see the difference - in 25 there is more opportunity to game it.
